Yes it is a real stop sign, and no I didn’t steal it. I developed this colored pencil technique on paper, but wanted a larger canvas to use the procedural technique on. The old embossed stop sign sitting in my apartment was the next victim. I worked to preserve as much of the original texture as possible, occasionally pulling in portions of the sign into the field.”
